Sport Events Congress 2023 re-cap
Richmond Sport Hosting was proud to welcome national sport organizations and event rights holders, destinations management offices, and sport tourism professionals from across Canada to our city for the 2023 Sport Events Congress, June 6th-8th, 2023.
Hosted by Sport Tourism Canada, Sport Event Congress is an annual conference that brings together representatives from the booming $7.4 billion sport tourism industry for 3 days of networking and educational seminars to help the industry succeed for years to come. The event in Richmond was an overwhelming success for both attendees and organizers. Richmond Sport Hosting showcased our city, sport hosting capacity, and rich diverse culture to the more than 250 sport tourism professionals who attended. Attendees were able to visit local accommodations and venues including the River Rock Show Theatre, partake in activities at the Richmond Olympic Oval, and even take in a beautiful Richmond Sunset in Steveston Village. The event gave back to the community in many ways, including a donation made to KidSport Richmond in lieu of speaker gifts. We look forward to welcoming our new and existing friends and colleagues back to our city very soon!
