In hopes of dethroning women’s hockey titans Canada and the USA at the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championships , Team Finland and Team Czech Republic have chosen Richmond, BC as the the City where they will begin their Gold Medal aspirations. The training camp for both teams will culminate with an exhibition game against each other at the Richmond Olympic Oval on March 23rd.
Currently ranked 3rd in the IIHF, Team Finland will look to build off a Bronze Medal at last years World Championship while the Czech Republic returns to the Top Division where they last played in 2013.
The 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship takes place March 28-April 4 in Kamloops, BC.
