Event Description
Richmond Sport Hosting is excited to welcome guests from our local Richmond clubs as well as staff and board members from a number of provincial and national sport organizations to enjoy the brand new Richmond Olympic Experience – the most interactive sports attraction in North America.
Some of our Richmond hoteliers and local restaurants have joined in the fun and have prepared some great prizes for a number of our challenges. If you want to prepare in advance, be sure to check out the Bobsleigh and Race Car simulators and the Reaction Timer information…and be sure to bring your A game! We will also be testing your sporting knowledge through the trivia challenge for even more chances at some prizes.
Participant Information
The following information is for all invited guests to the event. If you have any questions, please contact the Richmond Sport Hosting office at sporthosting@richmondoval.ca or, on the day of the event, Matt Eng at 778-879-2389.
Location: Richmond Olympic Oval – 6111 River Road, Richmond
Time: Come at your leisure anytime between 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27th.
Parking: Please note that the venue at the parkade tends to get very busy from about 4 pm on Wednesdays with regular programming. If you are unable to park at the parkade, you have a few other options around the building to choose from. See the map here – parking attendants will be onsite and able to provide a copy of the overflow parking options as well.
Registration: If you sent in your RSVP, you can simply provide your name at the ROX Box in the lobby of the Richmond Olympic Oval and you will receive your accreditation and ticket to the ROX. If you did not RSVP but would still like to participate, simply go to the ROX Box and an accreditation will be prepared for you.
Attire: As most participants will be coming from work, the event is very much a “come as you are” attire. We do suggest that, if possible, to wear a shirt that identifies your organization. Please note that the ROX is directly above the ice rinks in the facility, and while it is not cold, it does have a bit of a cooler temperature than some may be used to. There will be a coat check in the Legacy Lounge for event participants.
Program: There is no formal aspect to the event. You will take part in the standard ROX experience with a visit to the theatre to start your adventure before making your way up to the second floor to walk through the COC/CPC displays and then up to the third floor for the main ROX core and where the bulk of the event will take place. Finger foods and beverages will be available in the Legacy Lounge located at the back left of the ROX area – please note no food or beverage will be permitted outside the Legacy Lounge as a precaution around the simulators and other computer hardware in the ROX.
Should you be joining us after 5:30 pm, we suggest you come directly upstairs to join in the activities which will officially close at 6:00 pm (the ROX is open until 8:00 pm for anyone who wishes to remain).
ROX Shop: Event participants will receive a 15% discount at the ROX Shop located in the lobby. Simply show your accreditation and the discount will be applied.
Parting Gift: We are happy to provide a small parting gift bag for all of the participants. Please be sure to pick yours up before you leave!
