Mark your calendars volleyball fans! As part of the welcome to their new home, the national women’s volleyball team will be hosting Group 2 action in the FIVB Grand Prix circuit July 21-23 at the Richmond Olympic Oval. Germany, Peru and the Czech Republic will be travelling to the west coast to battle to move up the world rankings. With Volleyball Canada’s National Team Challenge Cup (NTCC) tournament taking place during the same period in the same venue, the future of Canada’s women’s volleyball will be able to see the best in the country compete making the weekend a true festival of women’s volleyball action.
This event showcases the flexibility that the Richmond Olympic Oval can offer as a stadium environment will be constructed allowing for fans to be as close as possible to the action without being confined to a rigid sports arena. Come and witness the sport at its highest level for the first time ever in Richmond and cheer on our Canadians as they look to start their new life in Richmond with success.
